Jacqueline CowanPhysical Therapy/Body Work, Yoga and Fitness
PearlPhysio was started by Dr. Jacqueline Cowan.
Dr. Jacqueline is a pelvic health and orthopedic physical therapist with a Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Boston University. She specializes in addressing orthopedic and pelvic health concerns centered around; prenatal and post-partum care, incontinence, constipation, diastasis rectus abdominis, male and female pelvic pain, adult and pediatric pelvic floor dysfunction, scar tissue mobilization, and sexual dysfunctions. She also helps people relieve aches and pains associated with general orthopedic injuries including; neck, low back, hip, knee, ankle, and shoulder, etc. She has a clinical practice located in Carlsbad Village and she also provides in-home concierge care to prenatal/postpartum mothers in the North County San Diego.
Practicing pelvic health physical therapy has been particularly fulfilling to her, as it has allowed her to change the lives of many people in ways that they never thought possible. Why…..because many other health care practitioners, family members, or friends never thought that the driver of the problem could be the pelvic floor! In addition, Jacqueline is an advocate of providing 4th-trimester maternal care to new mothers. This area of health and wellbeing is on the precipice of change, as more attention is being brought to pelvic health. It is also meaningful to be able to provide in-home care to new mothers, as it is often difficult for new mothers to leave the house or find childcare to be able to attend an outside appointment. Jacqueline is excited to be part of this new momentum. She is passionate about providing wellness education and empowers her patients to become happier, healthier, and stronger by promoting a healthy lifestyle. She integrates whole-body rehabilitation and prevention using a proactive treatment approach. One of Jacqueline’s main goals for herself is to keep abreast of the latest research and treatment techniques by continually reading primary literature and taking continuing education courses to enhance her skill set and to keep up with the latest evidence-based practices.
In her free time, Jacqueline enjoys running, Pilates, Yoga, and spending time at the beach with her husband, two daughters, and two rescue dogs.
