Carry Them Close: wearing your baby safely and comfortably in the first 4 months
A more in-depth and individualized 101 level class, which will explore all the basic carrier types and how to use them, as well as which carrier types are best suited to the progressive ages and stages of baby's development and why. Differences between brands will be discussed, including why various carriers may be a better fit for some wearers or babies than others. Learn about optimal newborn positioning and how to breast(or bottle)feed in a carrier.
This is a hands-on workshop style class. Each participant will be able to practice with each type of carrier, to their own comfort level, to see which may them best.
If you already own any baby carriers, please bring them with you, and let us know in advance which you’ll bring along, so we may plan accordingly. If you don’t have any yet, not to worry! We will have a stash for you to practice with!
If you already have a baby, they are welcome to accompany you to class. Please bring a safe place to set them down while you prepare your carriers. That may be a blanket, bucket seat, stroller, or in the arms of a secondary caregiver.
If you are expecting, we have weighted practice baby dolls to practice with.
The cost for this class is $25 per family and requires pre-registration, as space is limited
