I live in Encinitas with my husband and three children.  I have been a birth doula since 2001 and I love helping women feel a sense of empowerment with their birth experiences.  I feel that I have been “called” to safeguard women’s experiences, no matter how they may go.  I offer my doula services to women in North San Diego County.  I am usually hired for VBACs, and women wanting to go as long as they can without pain medication during labor. I help women at home, in birth centers, and at hospitals.  I have been a member of DONA for years and was trained through ALACE.  My doula services include prenatal meetings with you and your partner, an entire lending library of books and videos, phone & email support, help writing your birth plan, emotional, physical, and informational support during labor and birth, photo/video taking of the birth with your equipment, post-delivery care for 45-90 minutes afterwards including establishing breastfeeding, and a 45 – 90 postpartum visit to your home. My doula fee is $800 – $1000, pay what you can.  I discount my doula fee to $500 for a homebirth for a variety of reasons.  🙂  I have much information about the circumcision decision as well.  I am an advocate for healthy baby boys staying intact and whole because the foreskin is healthy functioning tissue that was meant to be there.  As for The Pregnancy Sanctuary, that is a 4-hour treatment where you get a bellycast, henna belly (or ankle) art, a piece of art created from a pregnancy photo shoot we do together, and much, much more!  You can email me to ask questions or to book an appointment.  I only see clients on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Cost is $249. I also adore facilitating Blessingway Ceremonies.  This is a ceremony marked by rituals that the mom picks out for herself.  The focus is on the mother and the journey she is about to take with the birth of her child.  The celebrant invites a very intimate group of 6 – 15 women to be her “circle of support” and attend the ceremony.  Delightful and moving!  You can email me to ask questions or book a date.  The cost is $125 and it includes a 1-hour planning meeting with you and your hostess, help with the planning and invitation, and the 1-hour facilitation of the ceremony.  For the mother with an older daughter in 4th or 5th grade, I also teach Puberty Workshops.  The minimum is 8 mother-daughter couples and it is a 5-hour workshop.  Cost is $50/couple.  It is so important to spend this quality time with your daughter as she gets this information delivered in a humorous but honorable way.  Certainly worth the investment of time!  Very bonding for the two of you.  I hope I offer a service that is appealing to you.  I hope to get the chance to answer any questions you may have.  Have a blessed birth!
